INTERNATIONAL Report

Oct-Nov 2006

Edito

Just returned from the last international event (the HortiFair in Amsterdam), Sudlac confirms its perception of the market.

The horticultural market isn’t always easy. The weather, changes in regulation and no two customers who are the same ; all factors you have to be able to manage, because you can’t control them.

Sudlac took the necessary measures during the last two years to assure its position :

- a strong Research & Development, which allowed to launch three new products

- an offensive marketing, to back up the commercial work of our distributors

- the reorganisation of the production department, with the investment in a new packing unit

This all with the result of a growth of the turnover with 25%, thanks to the new export clients. The exports represent over a third of our sales.

After the IFEX in Tokyo, the HortiFair has been the way to meet you and to talk through the actions being done and being planned.

In short,

It has been a pleasure !

New line marking paint reference for 2007

Sudlac is present on the market for 20 years, well controlling its “landscaping – line marking” range. Now we are proposing a new reference for very high quality marking : Serra Line 40.

This product offers many advantages :

- high whiteness, exceptional reflection

- excellent resistance against rain

- fast drying : the surface is dry in 5 minutes, the inside within 30 minutes, according to the weather

This all without compromising the easiness of using the product, a property which is highly appreciated by our clients.

It’s easy to stock; the product can be used after it has been frozen. This new product is packed in 15 Kg jerry cans.

Greenhouses : Transparent shading ?

In greenhouse cultures, climate control is obtained by optimising the sun rays. Certain sun-loving plants require a maximum of PAR-light, needed for the photosynthesis combined with an optimal climate, TransPAR will do this for your crops.

TransPAR is applied by spray gun on the outside surface of the greenhouse (plastic or glass). It prevents burning of the leaves and an excessive stress caused by the heat of the infrared radiation. The TransPAR allows you to limit the stress in your crops, while a maximum amount of light is preserved.

A national champion of France in the team !

Alexis Boisson, responsible of the research and development laboratory of Sudlac won for the 8th time (of which 5 senior titles) the title of French National Champion of Joute.

Played on the water, this sport demands reactivity, adaptation and determination. The capacity to analyse and a strong mental force are two essential qualities of the competitors !

A wave of freshness over China

Shangdong, a region specialised in the production of tomatoes and sweet peppers is kicking of well with the Serra L’Ombre.

Serra L’ombre has been applied on traditional greenhouses (667 m² under plastics = 1 mu). The growers are very satisfied with the shading and the production results that the Serra L’Ombre brought them. After its application the temperature in the greenhouse is reduced and the production period is prolonged. The gain in production is very fast measurable. Although it is applied at a very high dilution the plants take maximum advantage out of this short protection. The fruits are of good quality and harvests increase until up to 60%.

http://www.lesolec.com/Backed up by a TV commercial (daily just before the weather forecast on the local channel), the Serra L’Ombre gets known by the growers fast, with very satisfying results of the first “pioneers”.
